Toledo Pride officially kicks off at 2pm on Sat. Aug. 27 with the first-ever Toledo Pride Parade.  The parade steps off from the corner of Washington and St. Clair and ends at Promenade Park.  From 3-7pm, visit the Community Connection Carnival.  Dozens of community organizations and vendors will offer family-friendly activities, great merchandise, food and more.  There will even be a special kids’ activity area for the little ones.  The live entertainment starts at 3:10pm and lasts until midnight.  Enjoy a wide variety of music from local and national acts, including Bitch.  The night ends with a 18 and over only drag extravaganza with performances from all of your favorite queens and kings.

Toledo Pride is a cash-only event, so make sure to plan accordingly.  There is a 24-hour ATM located at 3 Seagate St., about 0.1 miles east of Promenade Park.   Seating at the event will be limited.  Feel free to bring blankets or lawn chairs.  Wristbands for the event will be available at the main entrance to Promenade Park.  Admission is $5 before 7:00pm and $7 after 7:00pm for guests age 18 and over.  Admission is free for those under 18.

  3. Hi Doug, I did find a posting on the TransOhio website for last year’s Findlay Pride Picnic. It seems like what you might be looking for. It was sponsored by the New Hope Community Church and took place at Litzenberg Park in Findlay on Rt. 224. Hope that helps!

  4. Doug V says:

I went to a gay Picnic at a park west of Findlay on Rt.224 last summer. I’d like to go again this year but I cant figure out the date of the event or the name of the park. Do you or anyone you know happen to know the date and mabey a contact number for the orginizers? I would be so thankful for any help you can give me!
    Thanks,
    Doug V.

  5. Thanks for your interest in helping out! If you want to e-mail me your contact info (kelly@outlinestoledo.com), I will make sure that it gets passed to the correct people. We can use all of the help we can get!

  6. I need more info on how me and my partner can volunteer or participate in the festivities. I am great with fundraising, organizing, and getting people from other places to come and attend. My Mate is a great speaker, as well as motivator, . We also have a friend Dave whom is great for speaking and counseling. I even have a DR. with a PHd. in LBGTQ counseling from school aged on up to the young at heart… WE WANT TO HELP !!

  7. That’s too bad that you didn’t find out until that day. It was an amazing event! We didn’t organize Pride, just helping to get the word out. I would suggest registering for the site so you get updates from us, or friending us on Facebook. If nothing else, just check Outlines Toledo periodically. We’ll always keep you posted on what’s going on in the local LGBT scene.

  8. John says:

Need to advertize this better. would have come but didn’t find out about it happening until mid afternoon on the 28th. I do not watch t.v., read newspapers. I listen to some radio, but not all day long. Most of my news comes from internet, word of mouth, and bulletin boards.
