Talk show host Rosie O’Donnell is calling out fellow comedian David Letterman for a joke made at her expense during his program that she is calling anti-gay. In response to news of O’Donnell’s engagement to girlfriend Michelle Rounds, Letterman quipped, “”The woman she is marrying, her fiancee, was driving … and her car broke down. And guess what happened? Rosie pulls up right behind her in her tow truck.”
Rosie wondered on her OWN talk show, why Letterman would resort to a stereotypical low-blow. ”Why is that, Dave?” she asks. “Why? I don’t remember making fun of you when you had sex with all your interns, Dave. I didn’t do that. I didn’t make fun of your rampant, throbbing heterosexuality, did I Dave?”
She goes on to say that Late Show producers are always trying to get her to be a guest on the show. Borrowing from Letterman’s nightly Top Ten List, Rosie followed up with “The Top Five Reasons Why I Won’t Do Your Show, Dave.” Two entries on the list: ”Dave, when you had that heart surgery, you shouldn’t have told the doctors to take out the whole thing. I remember when you had one, Dave. You were much nicer then” and “Not only do you appear to be antigay, you’re anti-tow trucker and that just pisses me off.”
