Columbus, Ohio-based Linda Harvey, founder of the “pro-family” Mission America, recently discussed the “Bad News for Homosexual Health” in a broadcast for WRFD 880AM.  Citing rightfully alarming statistics from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on an increase in rates of HIV/AIDS and syphilis infections in gay and bisexual men, she blames the government for lacking “the backbone” to address the real causes.

She begins by criticizing the CDC’s $285,000 per year grant to the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Educational Network (GLSEN), which she calls “a radical homosexual group to promote these lifestyles to schoolchildren under the guise of preventing bullying.” She calls it part of the “sweeping child sexualization agenda of our current leftist leadership.  Transmitting wayward adult sexual appetites and identities to kids is more important than the longterm welfare of the next generation.”  She accuses GLSEN of using their school safe zones to prevent “students from receiving information that could keep them from contracting these diseases.  It’s true.”

She goes on to offer a plan for preventing the spread of disease.  ”One obvious approach is to stop promoting homosexual behavior to kids and falsely calling it an identity like race. We could also close down homosexual bars and bathhouses, that would be a start. God never created people to engage in these unnatural acts.  And the good news is that many people have left homosexuality behind.  We need to be able to tell this good news at the appropriate time to our children.”
